Subject: IBET Chicago Ornithological Society walks this weekend

- Consider joining COS for one or both of these walks this weekend.

- Bird Walk at Humboldt Park
- Saturday, September 23, 7:30-10:00

- Humboldt Park Field House (map)
- 1400 North Sacramento Avenue
- Chicago, IL, 60622

- Join COS and Humboldt Park resident/birder extraordinaire Sam Burckhardt for a birding walk to look for later Fall migrants. This is good time for sparrows, and the fields and marshes could have Nelson's and Le Conte's Sparrows. Dress for the weather!
- We will meet in the Field House parking lot on the west side of Sacramento. Contact Sam at <rawsbb...> with any questions.

- Audubon Great Lakes will also be hosting a workday at 10am, so check out their website and feel free to stop by to help out after the walk!

- Whistler Woods/Kickapoo Forest Preserve Bird Walk
- Sunday, September 24, 7:30-9:30

- Whistler Woods (map)
- 735 West 134th Street
- Riverdale, IL, 60827
- Explore these ‘underbirded’ forest preserves to look for late migrant warblers, thrushes, and sparrows. Beginning birders are welcome and encouraged to attend, and binoculars will be available for those who don’t have them.

- Meet at the end of the parking lot at Whistler Woods. Contact Andrew Aldrich for details at 630-803-1590.
- Dress for the weather; close toed shoes are recommended. Walks are free and open to all.
