Subject: [ia-bird] black-throated blue warbler
This afternoon about 1:45 while taking a group of fifth graders birding as a part of the Buchanan County annual 5th grade day we came across a male black throated blue warbler. It was with a red-breasted nuthatch and black and white warbler on a trail near the rental cabins at Fontana Park. It was cooperative and many of the kids got to see it. There is a foot bridge on near the lake. Before the bridge a trail goes left between tall white pines and a gully. It was near where the trail begins Small groups of birds were found on the trails throughout the wooded area. Nice area to hike and be out on a day like this. Tom Schilke - Waterloo
