At the hawk watch in New Haven on Monday we logged 158 diurnal raptors, part of a nice 3-day run for early September. It as a nice mix of expected species with Osprey, Sharp-shinned Hawk and American Kestrel all at 30+. Also 16 Broad-winged Hawks, 8 Bald Eagles and 7 N Harriers. Non-raptor flight very modest, but included 7 migrating Common Loons Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were down a bit, from 202 last Monday to 16 :).
Many thanks to Howie Sternberg, Paul Desjardins, Sol Satin and Tony Tortora (emeritus) for their hard work when the numbers picked along with the altitude.
