Subject: [NBB] Great Horned Owl: Rare Call Heard (& Link Here For Similar Recording)
As a common owl species, as you know, GREAT HORNED OWL expresses a diverse repertoire
of vocalizations.

One I rarely hear from this species occurred today at 6:01 AM in the Marin Open Space forest adjacent to our
residence…..and is present as a recorded call at the web site

xeno-canto.org <http://xeno-canto.org/>

Go to this above link:

http://www.xeno-canto.org/species/Bubo-virginianus?pg=6 <http://www.xeno-canto.org/species/Bubo-virginianus?pg=6>

Click on the 2nd owl submission from the top of the page.

The “squawk” is heard immediately and matches the individual I heard today.

You may need to register a User Name & Password before allowed entrance to this site, if you do not
yet have an account.

Happy weekend to you all,
