Heading out first thing this morning to North Pond, Chicago having limited expectations with the easterly winds and sunny skies. Although numbers of warblers were overall low i was pleasantly surprised to count them up at the end and find I had 15 species including a Connecticut Warbler, Mourning Warbler and at least 2 Black-throated Blue Warblers (there may have been 3 but i couldn’t be sure that the extra male wasn’t the same bird as i saw about 100 yards away). The only warbler to make it into double figures today was Blackpoll Warbler with at least 15 individuals.

Generally very quiet for other species such as flycatchers, thrushes and sparrows, best birds being 2 Red-breasted Nuthatch, Lincoln’s Sparrow and Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
