Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] WHIMBREL Continues: Day 3!
Hi all,

Amazingly, the Whimbrel at the Buffalo Outer Harbor continues into Day #3. After Bruce Hoover re-found and reported it this morning, the Whimbrel went MIA for a few hours when flushed by a couple of young Red Foxes. It finally reappeared around 10:30 – again, in the grassy area between the service road and Fuhrman Blvd – closer to the Seaway Slip rather than the Bell Slip.

The Baird’s Sandpiper(s) appear to have left, being replaced by a single White-rumped Sandpiper that Dean Di’Tommaso (and Peter Y) saw yesterday. There were a few Semipalmated Sandpipers this morning along with quite a few (16) Semipalmated Plovers. I also had a Black-bellied Plover flyover at the Bell Slip and another unknown shorebird at the Seaway Slip.

Good birding to all!
