Subject: IBET Bemis Woods Field Trip
Four birders joined me for a #birdthepreserves field trip to Bemis Woods
along Salt Creek in western Cook Co.. We covered both Bemis North and
Bemis South, recording a total of 51 species. Highlight was 17 species of
warblers with best 3 Golden-winged, a male Black-throated Blue that was
singing, and a Northern Parula. Most common were 32 American Redstarts, 18
Tennessees and 13 Magnolias. Also good numbers of Red-eyed Vireos (16) and
Indigo Buntings (23).
