Subject: [Va-bird] Great Falls NP Bird Walk 09/03/2017 (Fairfax County)
Following is the tally from Sunday's weekly bird walk at Great Falls National Park, which identified approximately 32 species.
"Oh the cuckoo, she's a pretty bird, and she warbles as she flies . . . ."
                                        -- Folk Song

Highlights of Sunday's walk included:  1) two juvenile yellow-billed cuckoos who remained fairly stationary and in full view for easily 10 minutes; and 2) flocks of cedar waxwings seemingly everywhere in the main picnic area.
The walk meets on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in front of the snack bar/concession stand of the Great Falls Park visitors' center.  All birders are welcome!
