Subject: [CT Birds] Hammo Purple Sandpipers and Merlins
From Fran and Tom Holloway
9/1/14 - Hammonasset S.P. - 8:30 am, 4 Purple Sandpipers, at least two of which looked like juveniles, on the rocky coast of the Pebble Beach (behind Meigs Point Parking Lot); we had never seen them at this time of year. In the picnic area adjacent to the Willard Island Trail head, two Merlins. On Willard's itself, a ton of Yellowstarts and Black and Whites, with an isolated Yellow Warlber and Common Yellowthroat. That was about it.
This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) for the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut.
