Subject: [IN-BIRD-L] Lakefront (31-Aug-2017) Whimbrel, Sabine's Gull, & 16 jaegers
Today (31-Aug-2017) John Cassady, Lynn Vernon, and I birded two sites on the Indiana lakefront.

A front passed through before daylight. The following winds were northeasterly at 15+ knots. Winds at Miller Beach (Lake St. lot) were northeasterly and the birding was much more productive, with one Whimbrel, a Sabine’s Gull, and 16 jaegers including a Long-tailed. This is Indiana’s largest daily count for the month of August. At one time seven jaegers were visible simultaneously. Two sets of three jaegers were observed departing the lake on a southerly heading.
