Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday August 31. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER is now being seen at Ankeny NWR. A REDSTART was
seen August 26 among a warbler flock at the north jetty of Yaquina Bay.

Migrations and dispersals are now being reported. On August 28 VAUX'S SWIFT
numbers had increased to 2800 at Portland's Chapman School .

On August 27 a GLAUCOUS GULL was near Yachats. A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was
seen August 29 on the beach at Sandpiper Village north of Waldport. That day
a LARK SPARROW was at the Inn at Spanish Head in Lincoln City.

A SANDERLING was seen August 27 at Ridgefield NWR. Racetrack Lake on Sauvie
Island is now attracting many shorebirds. On August 24 a MARBLED GODWIT was
there. On August 24 an AVOCET and two PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were at the
Philomath Sewage Ponds.

On August 28 a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was near the Gray Butte Cemetery south
of Madras.
