Subject: [Va-bird] Great Falls NP Bird Walk 08/27/2017 (Fairfax County)

Following is the tally from Sunday's weekly bird walk at Great Falls National Park, which identified approximately 32 species.  Among the many sightings were a gaggle of geese, a paddling of ducks (as they were not airborne), the inevitable wake of vultures, and a small shimmer of hummingbirds.
Oh . . . and two sizable Eastern Box Turtles who were most definitely enjoying one another's company!
The group meets on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in front of the snack bar/concession stand of the Great Falls Park visitors' center.  All birders are welcome!
