Subject: [MASSBIRD] Scituate rarity( ies)
Friday morning birding group led by David Ludlow out of North River
Sanc. in Marshfield had a :

White pelican at Musquashicut Ave( Northern side of Musquashicut pond)
off of Hatherly Rd. in Scituate about 10 am.  It flew off and was then
seen 15 min. later sitting on  the large rocks off shore on Glades Rd.( 
This road lead to Minot light area and goes along the coast.  Look for
Large America flag on pole coming from massive rocks.( reported by a
boater earlier in week)

Small mystery sandpiper seen: size of least sandpiper  with black legs,
no palmations, and rufous coloring  of head, upper chest, and back down
to tail area, bright fringes on back feathering, seen at  the Driftway
boat ramp in mud flats by pier at 8:45 am ( tide appeared low) ( many
pictures taken and being submitted to ebird)  white "V" shape markings
on back.  Driftway is off of Rt 3A in Scituate and boat ramp is short
drive down toward ocean on right side of Driftway.
