Sylvia and I tried for the spoonbill this afternoon without success; we
checked both Walker and Church ponds alternately between 3 and 5:30.
There was still plenty of daylight left then, so it still could have
come in. Lots of movement in and out of Church pond especially during
that time.

We were rewarded for our efforts by a WILSON'S PHALAROPE at Church Pond,
a life bird for both of us. An assortment of waders and shorebirds were
present at the two ponds, including

3 Great Egrets

2 Great Blue Herons

1 Little blue Heron (adult)

1 Snowy Egret

34 Cattle egrets

3 Least sandpipers

2 pectoral sandpipers

1 solitary sandpiper

1 spotted sandpiper

1 greater yellowlegs

20 killdeer

25 cliff swallows

5 barn swallows

1 rough-winged swallow

Most of the shorebirds were at Church pond; some killdeer could be
discerned at Walker.
