Subject: [sbcobirding] Bird Refuge This Morning (Friday)
I was there from about 8 to about 9 am this morning. My shorebird totals (all from Platform 3): 6 Western Sandpipers (all juveniles), one Least Sandpiper, one adult Spotted Sandpiper, three adult dowitchers, Killdeer, Lesser Yellowlegs (heard only). I did not see the Semipalmated Sandpiper. My take on the adult dowitchers: I. thought one was definitely a Short-billed and the other two probably were. There's a lot of shorebird comings and goings so any time is worth a visit--who knows what might be there now?
