Skip, I have recently chased down several similar sounds, and 2 were Lesser
Goldfinch and one was American Goldfinch. There is a Purple Finch call in
the recording, and something odd there is possible, but I'd bet a pizza on
Lesser Goldfinch.

Harry, you point out one obvious chicken carcass, but I wonder if the
barred "coop" feathers might be a Barred Rock... another chicken.

The owl feather you collected is an inner secondary/tertial from a Barn Owl.
