8/1-2/17, 10:00 PM-5:00 AM -- Yard, Westport

Recording season (automated flight call monitoring via Old Bird 21 c Microphone and call detection software) has begun, with the results of last night and this morning yielding an expected variety of species as well as decent numbers, time of year considered. There were recorded 17 unidentifiable warblers (the great majority of which were probably yellow warblers) appearing to represent at least two different species, 4 American redstarts, 4 northern waterthrushes, and 2 chipping sparrows.
