Hi,

For anyone seeking out the falconry bird, the lobster impoundment where the hawk was seen around 7 am today is located on Owls Head harbor, taking the left turn onto Lighthouse Road and then a right onto Lobster Lane a little further on. Both sightings of the hawk (at nearby Shell Street) were within a half mile range. It's anyone guess whether the hawk will reappear around the village.

If you have details on the location, it might be worth letting MDIFW staff at the Sidney office know. There are a very limited number of falconers in Maine, and I bet DIFW would have a contact list to get the word out to whomever is missing a bird.

Hi,

The owner of the Owls Head lobster impoundment informs me of "a hawk with ribbons and bells hanging off its legs" that he saw in his yard at 7 am today. His yard overlooks the impoundment. The bird was also seen yesterday on Shell Street, about a quarter mile from the lobster impoundment. Being a non-birder, the informant could not identify the species of hawk in question.
