If you have details on the location, it might be worth letting MDIFW staff at the Sidney office know. There are a very limited number of falconers in Maine, and I bet DIFW would have a contact list to get the word out to whomever is missing a bird.

Hi,



The owner of the Owls Head lobster impoundment informs me of "a hawk with ribbons and bells hanging off its legs" that he saw in his yard at 7 am today. His yard overlooks the impoundment. The bird was also seen yesterday on Shell Street, about a quarter mile from the lobster impoundment. Being a non-birder, the informant could not identify the species of hawk in question.
