Although there is flooding and are mosquitos along the River and Kingfisher Pond, there are birds to be seen. Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Brown-crested Flycatcher are regularly seen and heard around the Cottonwoods near the Bookstore. Cassin's Sparrows are present in big numbers again this year and along with Botteri's and Rufous Wing are being seen along del Valle Road west of the Bookstore. Varied Bunting were also present along del Valle the last two days. Garden Wash west of del Valle Road has also been good.

To celebrate the Monsoon and acknowledge the Festivals we will have three Wednesday walks in August as well as the usual 4th Saturday Walk. The next walk is Wednesday, August 2, at 7. Additional Wednesday Walks are on August 9th and 16th, also at 7.
