Subject: IBET Local Spots Remain Flooded Monday 7-17-17
Hello Bird People,

This report is not to list birds but only to tell you that Air Station
Prairie, Techny Basin & Techny North all are still flooded with no
shorebird habitat at all.

At Air Station Prairie both ponds have very high water & the only
birds around were Great Blue Heron (1), 2 family groups of Mallards &
Tree, Barn & Rough Winged Swallows. A killdeer flew by but finding no
place to land kept going.

Techny North had 3 Great Blue Herons, 2 Great Egrets, a D.C.
Cormorant, 3 families of Wood Ducks & a few Tree & Barn Swallows. And,
like at the last place, 1 Killdeer flew by but but could not find land
to walk on.

Techny Basin (only viewed from the road) also appeared to be
completely flooded as well.

Not sure when there will be any improvement with more rain expected
later in the week but I'll check again next week & report on what I

Bird-Of-The-Day to the one hunting & diving Caspian Tern seen at Techny Basin.

Hoping for better local conditions for shorebirds

Al Stokie
