Five birders turned out today for the Sunday morning Environmental Operations Park bird walk, on a cloudy, cool morning in Sierra Vista. While only 38 species were spotted during the walk, we were treated to close-up views of a perched and flying American Bittern and Least Bittern. Many swallows were also seen, with an estimated 250-300 Cliff Swallows milling around on the ground, perched in the reeds, and flying over the ponds.

The walks begin at 7 a.m. every Sunday at the EOP observation platform parking lot.
