Subject: IBET Spotted Redshank
A SPOTTED REDSHANK (in alternate plumage) was observed flying from the South Globe Tract over toward the North Globe Tract at Emiquon Refuge (in Fulton Co.) at 5:40am today (July 7). It was in a flock of about twenty LESSER YELLOWLEGS.

A thin spit of land runs east/west out in the water about half way down the east side of the South Globe Tract. The Redshank was spotted out on that spit at around 7:30am. It remained there for about thirty minutes - when it then flew off out of sight - toward the southwest corner of the South Globe Tract.

A RED KNOT was out in the middle of the South Globe Tract early - but was not seen again after that.

A WILLET was at the south end of the South Globe Tract.

Many shorebirds are present there. Most of them are distant and moving around a lot.
