Subject: IBET King Rail @ Bartel Grassland 7-2-17
Hello birding friends,

Found a KING RAIL adult and chicks, as well as an adult VIRGINIA RAIL in the ditch that runs along the east side of Central Avenue in Bartel Grassland, south of Flossmoor Road. They were all seen in the ditch between the area of a wooden bridge that spans the ditch to a little bit past a roped off section (a bit south of the bridge) of grass between the bridge and the road. They tended to pop into and out of view quite quickly but regularly in this stretch of the ditch. King Rail was quite a treat!

Also in the area were HENSLOW'S SPARROWS, an American Toad, and a Beaver.

Good birding!
