Subject: [obol] Trip to Soapstone Lake, Clatsop Co.
I went up with Teresa and Michelle to Soapstone Lake off Hwy 53. The
most interesting bird was a very noisy HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER. The big
draw was a big day list of odonates.

Common Green Darner
Paddle-tailed Darner
Blue-eyed Darner
California Darner
American Emerald
Dot-tailed Whiteface
Western Pondhawk
Eight-spotted Skimmer
Common Whitetail
Cardinal Meadowhawk
Northern Bluet
Pacific Forktail

I also found a GREATER NIGHT-STALKING TIGER BEETLE, which was a life
beetle for me and one I'd been looking for for some time.

The lake was a full as I've seen it which made finding the SUNDEWS a
challenge, but we found some by walking about half-way out on one of the
logs and looking across at undisturbed adjacent logs/
