Subject: [MBBIRDS] MBay National Marine Sanctuary Protections
Many of you may have heard that the Trump Administration is
considering removal of the Davidson Seamount from Monterey National Marine
Sanctuary. If this effort is successful and Davidson is opened to energy
development it will be yet another blow to the imperiled seabirds of the
California Current. For those that don't know, Davidson is a crucial area
of high biological productivity far offshore at the southern end of the
sanctuary, and, not incidentally, is the source of some of Monterey
County's rarest seabird records.

Consider taking action on the NOAA comment page and, if you are a
constituent of Jimmy Panetta's. let him know this is an issue worth
fighting for.
