Subject: [cobirders] Burrowing owl still at Coyote Ridge.
One burrowing owl was seen at Coyote Ridge Natural Area this morning (6/23/17). It was active, catching a cricket and eating it. No sign of the second bird or any young. Again, the burrows are about 200 to 300 meters from the trail head on the south side of the road across from two interpretive guides. The burrow is about 25 meters from the south edge of the road, with a second burrow entrance closer to the road, surrounded by short milkweed plants slightly to the right.
Good birding!
Dan
