Subject: Fledge day - Chester Co.
With Tree Swallows and Eastern Bluebirds both fledging from yard nest boxes this afternoon, I got to witness a bit of drama when a Tree Swallow alarm call was heard. Soaring overhead was a Cooper's Hawk with two Tree Swallows right on its tail. One of the swallows twice flew into the hawk hard enough to visibly nudge it. The hawk wisely flew off into the distance.

Tree Swallow about to make the big leap.

Eastern Bluebird moments after fledging.
