Made a drive through at Bald Knob NWR today. The roads are all now open. Correction, the new road on the north side of the ponds is still closed. I saw a dozen or so Black-necked stilts, 300+ White pelicans, 9 juvenile White ibis. Behind the grain bins was a male Northern Pintail duck. Back in the back part of the refuge were 300+ Little Blue herons, 50+ Great Blue herons, 1000+ Great egrets, a couple dozen Double-crested cormorants. There were many Snowy egrets mixed in but the fields were so white with Great egrets it was hard to get an estimate of there numbers.
