Indian Cave State Park. Isn't that one of the main destinations of the upcoming NOU meetings in two weeks in Auburn NE? Keep the reports coming! I'm really excited to be coming (all the way from Boulder, CO) for that.

Subject: [NEBirds] Indian Cave State Park

Rick Schmid, Deb and I birded Indian Cave State Park for several hours today:
Birding was fairly slow, but some migrants made their appearance, mostly just 1 or 2 birds, including the following:

Warblers:
4 Yellow-rumped
1 Orange-crowned
6 Northern Parula
3 Ovenbirds
2 Yellow Warblers
1 American Redstart
1 Common Yellowthroat

Other migrants included:
2 Yellow-throated Vireos
2 Indigo Buntings
6 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks
1 Baltimore Oriole
1 Wood Thrush
1 Great Crested Flycatcher
1 Warbling Vireo
1 Western Kingbird

We saw no tanagers or flycatchers except for the Western Kingbird and Great Crested Flycatcher

A rather unexpected bird was a Red-breasted Nuthatch
We also had 1 Dickcissel on the highway west of the park entrance.
There were good numbers of Harris's, Chipping, Field and White-throated Sparrows plus 2 White-crowned.
