I had 45 species this morning. Nothing uncommon. The only non-residents were: Swainson's Thrush, Tennessee, Nashville, Yellow-rumped, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and Least Flycatcher.
Did a quick drive on Cartwright Mt rd at noon and had a Cerulean singing.
Devil's Den isnt the same park as it used to be. Flooding has taken its toll. The caves are closed to protect bats. The restaurant and store is closed due to a fire. New little ugly cabins are being built in one of the camping areas. And the state has widened and graveled the dirt road past the horse camp and formerly restored prairie. A new bridge is being built and 220 will be paved so cars can fly through the back side of the park. It saddens me greatly.
