Subject: Bald Knob NWR birds in flood
Just as the heavy rains were subsiding last Sunday and also on Thursday of
this week I entered Coal Chute Road acess at Bald Knob. Rari was over the
road a bit Sunday and by Wendesday most of the fields were flooded.

Avocets, black-neched stilts, dowitchers and yellowlegs were the highlight
of Sunday along with a scurrying sora. My first time to see one in
Arkansas.

On Thursday many blue winged teals and more dickcissles than I have ever
seen in one flock (about 20). Many indigos.

Peace and Birds Jerry
