Friday, April 28th -
FOS Tennessee Warbler
FOS Empidonax Flycatcher - light wingbars, big eyes, didn't say anything
FOS Golden-winged Warbler(s) - heard Beez-Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, of two birds accompanying a single Blue-winged Warbler, observed spectacular markings
Fledged Great Horned Owlets - two dozing side-by-side on a dead tree below the bluff this evening!!!
Cedar Waxwings in treetops front yard
Baltimore Orioles in blooming Tulip Poplar this morning with female Summer Tanager and Ruby-throated Hummingbirds
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, four males coming to feeder and one first year male with spotted breast
Scarlet Tanager singing in yard
Summer Tanager male singing and courting female in yard
Warblers including: Yellow-throated Warbler "Sycamore Bird" in yard, Northern Parula, Kentucky, Blue-winged, Black and White, Louisiana Waterthrush, and Ovenbirds (on Don's morning run)
Red-headed Woodpeckers, possibly two pair nesting in pine snags, vocal, tame, funny birds clinging to trees nearby, eating stuff off the ground, plus Red-bellied, Downy, Pileated
Northern Rough-winged Swallows and Chimney Swifts
Monarch Butterfly caterpillars on Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa)
Fame Flower [Phemeranthus sp.] prolific and covered with blooms in bluff glade
Barbara's Buttons [Marshallia caespitosa] prolific and already blooming along bluff trail
Coreopsis lanceolata just beginning to bloom on bluff glade
Judy cut brambles and branches away from trails, Don weed-eated and mowed trails
Happy otter footprints in sand along creek

Thursday, April 27th -
FOS Catbird
Turkeys - one crossing road, one in pasture
Barred Owls calling from territory across creek
Field, Chipping, Song, and White-throated Sparrows singing

Tuesday, April 25th -
FOS Bobolinks - in pasture along highway on way home from buying birdseed
Baltimore Orioles - trying to drink from hummingbird feeders and ignoring all six oranges
2 female Ruby-throated Hummingbirds daintily enjoying Coral Bells
Carolina Wrens fledge from nest mom built in an arrangement of Baptisia pods on deck shelf
New twin fawns at edge of tractor path in pecan orchard

Sunday, April 23 -
FOS Warbling Vireo
Ruby-crowned Kinglet still here, singing partial song and fussing
