Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation invites birding enthusiasts to Heritage Valley, a private reserve not usually open to the public, for a bird walk on Saturday, May 13th, 7-10am. Heritage Valley is 1000+ acres in western Allamakee County, containing wooded bluffs, hillside prairies, and more than 3 miles of the Upper Iowa River.
Paul Skrade, Assistant Professor of Biology at Upper Iowa University, is currently studying the breeding behavior of Acadian Flycatchers and Cerulean Warblers in Northeast Iowa and is sure to be a good companion for exploring the wilds of Heritage Valley.
Open to the public.
Expect rugged terrain and gravel roads. Dress for the weather. BYO binoculars and water bottle.
