Subject: [CT Birds] CACC
‚Äč4/19/ Milford, Connecticut Audubon coastal center, 9:50am-12 noon,
overcast, 50F low tide receding.
Marsh was teeming with birds-
100+ semipalmated sandpipers, 200+ Dunlin, 1 Mallard, 12 mute swans, 1
Snowy egret, 2 Great Egrets, 5 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 Red breasted
mergansers, 100+ Brant.
On grounds 22 Common grackles, Robins, 1 Blue jay, 1 maleHouse finch, 2 Red
winged blackbirds, 2 House sparrows, 2 Mourning doves, Carolina wrens
singing, 2 Mockingbirds, 2 Cardinals, 2 Purple martins at the gourd condos.
at 9:50am, both ospreys were on the nest. Male brought in a branch. Both
male and female carried the branch together, and placed it on the edge of
the nest. Female was on nest most of morning, while male flew back and
A Ring billed gull was on the male's perch.
