Subject: [ia-bird] Blackpoll

Birders
This afternoon Linda Rudolph and I found a handsome male Blackpoll Warbler at Belva-Deer Recreation Area in Keokuk County.  Evidently this is a record early date for this species in Iowa.
As Ann Johnson has recently pointed out, there have been numerous early records in Iowa this Spring, and it is important to document these occurrences, as it may signify a trend.
Good birding.
