Subject: [CT Birds] Extraalimital Rarities
Perhaps of interest to CT birders are these recent regional rarities:
Maine- Vermilion Flycatcher (male) - Hog Is., Bremen 4/17.- Scissor-tailed Flycatcher - East Machias 4/17.
New York- Scissor-tailed Flycatcher - Brooklyn 4/16.- Prothonotary Warblers in Brooklyn and on Long Island during the past week.- Cattle Egrets in Manhattan and Bridgehampton recently.
New Jersey- White Ibis - Cape May County 4/17.
Massachusetts- White-faced Ibis - Ipswich 4/17.
There's no reason rare birds like this aren't also in our state. Keep your eyes to the skies.
