Observation start time: 07:00:00 Observation end time: 12:00:00 Total observation time: 5 hours
Official Counter: Jerry McWilliams
Observers: Jerry McWilliams, Jerry Stanley, Roger Donn, Russ States
Visitors: Russ States, Roger Donn, and Jerry Stanley assisted with the count. Spotters and visitors included Joao Taveres, Ruth Swaney, and David Sublette.
Weather: Variably cloudy to full cloud cover with SW wind early becoming west. Falling temps. When the clouds moved in and the wind came in over the lake the temp. fell, but after clearing skies in mid-afternoon, the temp. bumped up again.
Raptor Observations: The first couple of hours were slow but there was a good uptick in the flight for the next two hours until it clouded over and the wind shifted out of the west, then the flight shut down along the lake. A short burst of Broad-wings that were stratospheric. Highlight was one local Merlin that buzzed me.
Non-raptor Observations: Common Loon--1, Double-crested Cormorant--46, Great Blue Heron--4, Chimney Swift--1, American Goldfinch--5, Red Admiral--24, Common Green Darner--2
Predictions: Partly cloudy, but seasonably cool with winds off the lake. Nothing likely along the lake.
