Subject: [CT Birds] 4/15 - Lake Saltonstall, Branford -- Red-necked and Pied-billed Grebe, RB Nuthatch
A lovely morning at Lake Saltonstall -- Highlights: a perched up, singing male
Eastern Towhee, several Pine Warblers, a Red-necked Grebe in breeding plumage
(photo in ebird) hanging close to a Pied-billed Grebe and Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.
Fishing season and boating season is open on the lake so no ducks at the north
end but watching the Grebes hanging together was fun. A Regional Water
Authority Permit is required to access this property. Info at Ebird report below.
