The Black-chinned Hummingbird in Beaufort, NC was seen again today and is looking much like an adult. Unfortunately, he is quite unpredictable and more people missed him than saw him. He must be spending a lot of time at one or more other feeders, or at natural nectar sources. There are many other feeders in the neighborhood, but was not seen on a scouting walk by a visiting birder. Today he visited my feeders at 09:55, 10:35, 11:12, 11:45, and one more time at 17:50. I will be at the store by 7 AM tomorrow. Birders are welcome to come in and watch from inside. The best spot outside is halfway up the ramp to our door. From there you can see all three feeders at one time.
