Subject: [Va-bird] First VA BBA Data and other Atlas updates...
Hi Folks,

A quick email to let you know about new Atlas info available through the
Atlas Block Explorer tool. We've just published species lists from the
first Atlas project (1984-1989) on this tool. You can now download the
Atlas data for any block in the state.

Check out this article for more information about the VABBA1 data!

Lastly, we have a new Atlas training opportunity in the southwestern part
of the state. Dr. Steven Hopp, the region 7 coordinator, is offering a
training near Emory and Henry College on Saturday, April 29th. This will
be an in-depth session, similar to the regional training sessions that
we've been holding around the state this spring. For more info or to
register for this event, please email Dr. Hopp at <shopp...>

Hope you're all out enjoying this awesome spring weather and knocking out
breeding confirmations on those earlier breeders. Just today, a local
volunteer told me they'd seen Blue Jay's carrying nest material, while
dropping a child at school. I've already got baby Carolina Wren's cheeping
in a nest on my gutters. We're in the thick of it now! :)

All the best,
