Subject: [ia-bird] Walnut Woods S.P.
It really felt and sounded like spring at Walnut Woods S.P. this morning.
Some of the highlights for Diane Dentlinger and I were: Pileated
Woodpecker, House Wren, Carolina Wren, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Ruby-crowned
Kinglet (lots), Hermit Thrush, Brown Thrasher, Northern Parula, Chipping
Sparrows (lots), and singing White-throated Sparrows. The Osprey pair was
on their cell tower and the Purple Martin colony on Army Post Rd. was quite
active. It was a good morning to b e out.
