Roadrunner.
---On April 9 at Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR Bluestem Loop Trail, Heather
and Riley Morris reported Lincoln’s Sparrow.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
---On April 1 a male Vermilion Flycatcher was seen by Larry Gurzick on Open
Space along Tollgate Creek Canal near the intersection of Iliff and Rifle
St. The flycatcher was seen again on April 4 and April 6 by
Gurzick.
---On April 6 at CR 157 and Prentice Place, Cheri Phillips reported 2
Chukar. This would be a new county record if accepted.

ARCHULETA COUNTY:
---On April 6 at Pinon Lake Reservoir, Byron Greco reported Trumpeter Swan.

BACA COUNTY:
---On April 9 at Comanche National Grassland Little Washington Work Center,
Richard Sayles reported Greater Roadrunner, Ladder-backed Woodpekcer,
Eastern Phoebe, Chihuahuan Raven, and 2 Rufous-crowned Sparrows in
Cottonwood Canyon.

BOULDER COUNTY:
---On April 4 on Boulder Creek near 75th, John Rutenbeck reported Black
Phoebe. On April 7, Susan Rosine reported Black Phoebe at Boulder Creek
and 75th St. On April 9, Peter Burke reported Black Phoebe at Boulder
Creek and 75th St.
---On April 7 at GreenLee Preserve in Lafayette, Ted Floyd reported
EASTERN MEADOWLARK. On April 8 at Waneka Lake/Greenlee Preserve, Glenn
Walbek reported Eastern Meadowlark.

reported 2 Eastern Phoebe. On April 8 at Chatfield SP, Gavin Bieber
reported 2 Eastern Phoebe nest building. On April 9 at Chatfield SP,
upstream of Kingfisher Bridge (east), Bez Bezuidenhout and Renee Casias
reported 2 Eastern Phoebe.
---On April 8 at Bar CCC Park, Lynne Forrester reported 3 Lincoln’s
Sparrows.

EAGLE COUNTY:
---On April 8 at Spring Park Reservoir, Dick Filby reported around 50
Barrow’s Goldeneyes.

reported Lincoln’s Sparrow and 2 Fox Sparrows.

---On April 6 at Blue Mesa Reservoir, eastern portion, Jordan Roderick and
Dave Stejskal reported 3 Barrow’s Goldeneye.

Phoebe, Eastern Phoebe, and Carolina Wren.

Denver Field Ornithologists Field Trips
The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, April 15 will be to Chico Basin Ranch led

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, April 15 will be to Cameron Pass for
Boreal Owls led by Francis Commercon and Paul Slingsby (siskinbyderailleur
At gmail.com; 303-470-9130). This is a strenuous trip. Diredtions: Meet
at 2 pm. At SW corner of Moby Arena at CSU Campus, Fort Collins to Carpoll.
From Denver take I-25 north to Prospect Road, exit 268. West on Prospect
until Shields St, north on Shields to Elizabeth St. Turn right (east into
giant parking lot for Moby Arena. Will start at Moose Visitor Center for
maountain specialties. Then return to Cameron Pass and hike out to the
(pre-scouted) area where we will look for Boreal Owl after sunset. Will
eat dinner on the trail and keep an eye out for American Three-toed
Woodpecker. Will be snowshoeing for up to 6 miles with 200-500 ft
elevational gain. Will be hiking in the mountians at high elevation at
night. Bring your own dinner. Bring hand warmer and a healight with extra
batteries. Hats and glove are required, and warm drinks in thermoses are
suggested. Please bring your own showshoes. Register online or contact
leader.

The DFO Field trip for Sunday, April 16 will be to Canon City with Ira and
Tammy Sanders. This trip is full.
