Nice sunny day and a few early migrants enlivened a walk in the field/ woods area around the MoCo Trolley Museum, in Upper NW Branch Park. Sparrow numbers much diminished from earlier in the year, but a Wild Turkey ( first we have ever seen here) and a mixed flock or two made it a nice morning to be out. Too bad this once excellent field habitat is being overrun by invasive Bradford Pear - could have been nipped in the bud a several years ago with a few days' work on part of park staff but now really out of control. Worry about the breeding Chats, Willow FC etc. that use the area...for now.
Anyway, had a nice mixed flock down by the stream, including bright Pine Warblers at eye level - a real treat - plus Yellow Palms and Myrtles, singing Ruby-crowns and a lone Golden-crown. No other warblers nor any vireos, yet.
