Subject: [obol] blackberries
Rife around carver when i moved here in '73. So called himalayan mostly but
also evergreen.
Wine, jam, pancake sauce, cobblers. Buckets of them.
Widely eaten by some birds and mammals as determined by feces all around.
Red legged frogs found in their understory of bare ground. Perhaps safe
from predators there. Enjoyed by crowned sparrows, etc. as refuge when
feeding on open ground nearby. But clearly disruptive &
dominant as a vegetative component.
