Texbirders/Laurie:
Chet Burrier and I had a huge flock of  ~700 American White Pelicans passing north through Falls City (NW Karnes County-southeast of San Antonio) on Saturday April 1. Also had two huge groups of hawks (~500 birds each--almost all Broad-winged) in same area.

Texbirders, a friend of mine called me to say that while she was out

paddle

boarding she observed hundreds of large birds in a loose "V" formation
overhead in groups of various sizes. These were not kettles.
My question is, have any of you observed any large groups flying over the
Austin area this evening?
Thanks for any info. She's just getting into birds and was so excited!
