Subject: [texbirds] Ellis Shorebirds. Cut-off Road sod farm Tues. morning.
I made a quick run back up to the sod farm and the large numbers of birds
were not found at the main pond, although they could just be feeding
elsewhere. This Sod Farm is probably two full square miles with lots of
standing water all over the place. There were still moderate numbers of
birds flying around. The flock of Dunlin and some Long-billed Dowitchers
were still there, but less American Golden-Plovers, Uplands and Least
Sandpipers than yesterday. Also ran across two Baird's Sandpipers, which I
didn't see yesterday. Also, saw both yellowlegs and about a dozen American
Golden-Plovers.
