Subject: [texbirds] Neotropic Cormorant in Lubbock, shorebirds and gulls in Lynn Co.
Hello all,
This morning, 29 March, there was a subadult Neotropic Cormorant at Leroy
Elmore Park in Lubbock. It was super easy to pick out as it was one of only
3 cormorants on the playa lake. There were also no fewer than 16
Black-crowned Night-Herons at the rookery along with 4 Cattle and 2 Snowy

Of local interest, McAllister Park had 11 American Avocets and one adult
Peregrine Falcon.

The shorebird action continues to heat up throughout the region. This
checklist from a playa south of Tahoka (Lynn County) yesterday, 28 March,
pretty much says it all:

Also on 28 March was a solo breeding adult Franklin's Gull and 2nd cycle
Ring-billed Gull on the FM 1054 x CR 28 playa east of Tahoka in Lynn

Merry Migration!
