Subject: [STA_Birds] San Joaquin River NWR Yesterday
I led the monthly Stan Audubon refuge trip yesterday and had a couple of surprises. On closed portions of the refuge we saw a female LAWRENCE'S GOLDFINCH with a group of Lessers and two female PURPLE FINCHES with American Goldfinches. There were two AMERICAN BITTERNS calling on another closed part of the refuge and a PEREGRINE FALCON soaring south of the Beckwith Road viewing platform.
