I observed the resident PEREGRINE FALCONS at the Rock today. 2 OSPREYS soared around the upper slopes of Morro Rock in the onshore winds and and then both flew in a long glide to the north, above Morro Strand beach. Numbers of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS and WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS danced around high in the winds. BEWICK'S WRENS and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS are common songsters around the base of the Rock. During two visits this month there has also been a CANYON WREN singing and bouncing around among the rocks on the south side facing the harbor entrance, near the end of the parking lot.
